Listen up gardeners, both those new to the outdoor pastime and new. First aid is something you need to be prepared to administer in you outdoor haven. There are hazards to encounter, both accidentally self-inflicted and others. These often include insect bites, scratches inflicted by sharp branches and thorns, cuts from pruning shears, and the dreaded splinter. As such, any home garden keeper should have a basic first aid kit readily available for these moments.
In the supply should be bandages, band-aids, alcohol, cotton balls, and tweezers. If you want to include items that can assist in warding off injuries, and such then include sunscreen, insect repellent and moisturizer for those gardener hands. In addition, having something soft for kneeling upon when weeding and planting is also a great addition in my book.
Be sure that anyone who helps out in the garden knows where the kit is kept, and that if they use anything from it, to let you know. Nothing worse than a first aid kit that has not been replenished over the course of time, that is not equipped when needed.
